The Night They Planned The Plan At Murphy’s Bar
By John H Thomas Jr
They came from near and far
To the back of Murphy’s Bar
On the night all the animals got together
Well, the time was surely right
It was a cold December night
But no one really seemed to mind the weather
They were there to rue the day
That mankind got its way
And nearly upset the balance of the planet
They schemed and plotted joyously
Screamed and yelled uproariously
Until they thought it, fought it, and then planned it
After stealing Murphy’s bike
They all went out on strike
To the total consternation of the nations

Every man was of one mind
This was surely quite unkind
And certainly hurt their animal relations
With no animal to be found
Even the pets had gone to ground
Man found himself in a Precarious Position
The animals got their way
On a warm, spring, sunny day
After all it was the natural condition
Now on the winter’s night
When the animals steal from sight
To celebrate their victory ‘neath that star
They jump around quite joyously
Chatter and shout uproariously
And celebrate that immaculate deception
It was nothing too mysterious
Nothing really dark or devious
The night they planned the plan at Murphy’s Bar
