Feeding All The Ducks In Congress Park
One day, just for a lark
I strolled down to Congress Park
To take in all the sights
And have a sip
The drops weren’t off my lips
When from nowhere, like a ship,
Came a million, honking ducks
Of varied hues
To the locals this wasn’t news
But for me, I had to choose
‘Twixt eating out myself
Or feed the ducks
The bread store was big bucks
And I had to dodge those trucks
There’s nothing like feeding ducks
In Congress Park |
By John H Thomas Jr
From morning to nearly dark
I traversed that fowl park
Buying, breaking, throwing
Loaves of bread
At twilight came the dread
That by morning I’d be dead
If I tried feeding all the ducks
In Congress Park
